The Ole Miss Finance Club has undergone remarkable growth, expanding from 25 to 170 members in just one semester, with weekly meeting attendance surging from 10 to 70. Co-led by Presidents Andrew McDonough and Yiping Wang, the club focuses on empowering students with financial knowledge, hands-on investing experience, and access to industry leaders. Open to students of all backgrounds, the club offers opportunities for personal finance education and professional development.

A standout feature of the club is the Ole Miss Investment Group, a selective subgroup managing a $500,000 portfolio funded by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Members participate in competitive stock pitches, and the group evaluates investments to optimize returns as part of the TVA Investment Challenge, where Ole Miss has a strong legacy, including a second-place finish in 2020.

Members like Ashley Linscott highlight the club’s impact, from learning about investing to building connections with peers and alumni. With events like speaker sessions and hands-on portfolio management, the Finance Club equips students with the skills, resilience, and network needed to excel in the finance world. Meetings are held Thursdays at 6 p.m. in Lamar Hall, Room 131, and are open to all students interested in finance.
